Rom 8:5 Those
who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the
Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. 6 The
mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. 7 The
mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God’s law, nor can it
do so. 8 Those
who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God.
9 You,
however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if
indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of
Christ, they do not belong to
Christ. 10 But if
Christ is in you, then
even though your body is subject to death because of sin, the Spirit gives life[d] because of righteousness. 11 And if
the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from
the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of[e] his Spirit who lives in you.
12 Therefore,
brothers and sisters, we have an obligation—but it is not to the flesh, to live
according to it. 13 For if you live
according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the
misdeeds of the body, you
will live.
14 For
those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. 15 The
Spirit you received does not
make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought
about your adoption to sonship.[f] And by him we cry, “Abba,[g] Father.” 16 The
Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. 17 Now if
we are children, then we are heirs —heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if
indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his
glory.
New Living Translation Matthew 6:9 Pray
like this:
Our
Father in heaven,
may your name be kept holy.
10 May your Kingdom come soon.
May your will be done on earth,
as it is in heaven.
11 Give us today the food we need,[a]
12 and forgive us our sins,
as we have forgiven those who sin against us.
13 And don’t let us yield to temptation,[b]
but rescue us from the evil one.[c]
may your name be kept holy.
10 May your Kingdom come soon.
May your will be done on earth,
as it is in heaven.
11 Give us today the food we need,[a]
12 and forgive us our sins,
as we have forgiven those who sin against us.
13 And don’t let us yield to temptation,[b]
but rescue us from the evil one.[c]
In this day and age of health and wellness
gospel, we are bombarded by the idea that if we speak it, we will receive it.
Though this is, in part, true, we must being with a proper understanding of who
we are, and who God is. We cannot act in a way that brings about change from a
selfish, or sinful (negative energy), center. To bring about change in one’s
life, we must begin with the understanding of who we are as humans. We are eternal, divine, and heirs to a great
kingdom. As children of God, we must- at
the core of our being- understand what that truly means.
Though our bodies become ill, experience pain,
and know discomfort, we possess a soul (or energetic core) that cannot be
destroyed. Laws of energy teach that
energy, once set in motion, cannot be stopped. We are dealing with an eternal
self, limited only by what we tell ourselves are our boundaries. Does this mean
we can change shape, or grow to immeasurable heights? Probably not. However,
our physical body cannot limit the reach of our energy. We must learn how to operate from our core
(soul), and not our brain.
Your brain will send you mixed messages. The left
side is logical, scientific. The right
side is creative, more free-form. As you
take in information, you will get conflicting messages. We are discussing how to bring about change.
Logically, it means we must take certain steps, but we cannot overstep such and
such boundaries. Creatively, we are curious, and want to explore how far we can
take the new knowledge and begin to push past boundaries. This dichotomy leads to confusion, if all we
follow is our brain. However, we are not limited to just one system in our
body. We have that eternal soul that longs for the perfection it knows to be
true; a perfection that comes only from our Heavenly Father.
This soul of
ours is, in essence, the same soul of God.
Did I just call us equal to God? Yes, in a way. Just as we are part of
our parents, we are part of God. Their mixed DNA became our DNA. We are, in
essence, our parents. We can choose to
be like them, or not. We have our own
free will to do as we choose. However,
we cannot change our makeup. No matter
how much plastic surgery you have, or how much you try to hide certain
features, you are still part of your family.
This is the same with our soul.
We can choose to go against God’s plan and sin. This does not make us
any less His child. It does, however,
take away many blessings that He wishes to give us. Romans 3:23 teaches us
that, “The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Jesus
Christ our Lord.” If we put negative
energy out, we will reap negative rewards.
In turn, if we align with our Divinity and act in a positive manner, we
will gain more than we can being to imagine!
You must
understand that you are divine. You are
holy, or at least made to be. Holy
simply means set apart for a specific purpose.
We are all on this earth for a specific reason. Like gears in a machine, our purposes work
together to keep life on earth running smoothly. Our divine soul knows what its purpose
is.
As we grow up, we lose sight of dreams we have as
children, for practicality. Bills must
be paid, spouses need cared for, children need everything, our parents need our
care. Life gets in the way of our dreams.
I can safely assume that as you are reading this, you are thinking back
to what you wanted to be as a child.
I’ve been blessed, in the past few years, to follow my childhood
dream. I’m a stay-at-home mom and a
teacher. I’ve had my setbacks, but I
never lost sight of what I wanted to do, and what I believe I was created to
do. Maybe you think that your dream was foolish. For example, my four year old son wants to be
a superhero. As an adult, we may think
this is foolish. However, what do superheroes do? They fight crime and save the
day. Now, he is a very soft-natured
child, and it is hard for me to think of him entering the city with trumpet
fanfare. However, his understanding of rules and desire to follow them leads me
to believe he could enter law enforcement, or public service of some sort. That, in its own way, is being a
superhero. My preteen daughter has
spoken many times of wanting to be on stage, singing and dancing. We all know that getting into that career is
difficult. However, I know that she can use her talents for making up songs and
dances to teach her younger siblings how to have fun while learning. She brings creativity to the world, and more
than a few smiles. Your childhood dreams
are not foolish. You have the opportunity to look at them, and see how those
first impressions of who you were show you what your divine gifts are.
God would not send you here to earth without a
reason. A king does not send his heirs
into a kingdom without a plan, nor without provisions. Romans 8:17 states, “Now
if we are children, then we are heirs —heirs
of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order
that we may also share in his glory.”
What is an heir? Simply, it is someone who is in line to receive the
estate of he who entrusted it to him.
Modern royalty act with the support of the crown,
and walk in the truth that their doings are a direct representation of the
monarch. To be an heir of God, we have
an obligation to move upon this earth as ambassadors of His Kingdom. Not only ambassadors, but we have a
commission to conquer all that is not within His Kingdom. No, I’m not talking a
Holy Crusade (which were not in the greatest stretch of the imagination holy).
When Jesus
taught his disciples to pray, he taught them “Thy kingdom come, thy will be
done on earth as it is in heaven”. What
does that mean? If, in Heaven, a set of rules is followed, they are to be
followed here. If it is forbidden in
Heaven, it should be forbidden here.
Now, back to that whole idea of being human and living in flesh, that’s
the reason we have grace! God knows that we are not perfect, and that we will
not do this every day. Each day is a new
start to bring about God’s perfection.
Since God has sent us here to earth to bring
about His Kingdom, we need to understand what that Kingdom consists of. Honestly, the main rule is one simple thing-
Love. Everything God does is out of
love. Yes, even the wars in the Old
Testament had a basis of love behind them. At the dawn of creation, God set the
world in perfect motion. A garden filled with love and perfect peace. Adam and
Eve chose to sin, thus allowing God’s greatest gift of love to happen. Adam and
Eve truly knew God’s loving nature when they became parents. They took the role
of creators when they brought forth their own children. The loving nature of God came full circle
when he showed the world how much He loved each person, from the dawn of
creation onward, by allowing our sin to be put on Jesus and buried with him
forever in the tomb. God’s perfect love
brought Jesus back to life.
Jesus’ entire ministry was a perfect example of
how operating out of love brings forth the Kingdom of God on earth. Each miracle that he performed was with the
power of the positive energy that love creates.
Water became wine at the wedding, showing that God blesses that holy
union of souls. Blind eyes were opened,
deaf ears healed, demons and mental illness cast out for the same reason. Jesus
loves people! He wanted to show, through acts of love, that God’s Kingdom can
reign on earth. It is only through
self-sacrificing acts, and unselfish love, that we can experience heaven on
earth.
Our divine, eternal soul has the purpose of
bringing God’s Kingdom to earth in the here and now. We possess the power in
ourselves to do this. Heavenly Father
has given us the resources, talents, and motivation to usher in His Loving
presence to this world full of negativity.
Are you ready to find out how?
First, remember who you are. Secondly, remember whose you are. Lastly,
know-beyond a shadow of a doubt- that you have the authority and power in you
to create worlds and change your life. Are you ready?
